In a groundbreaking collaboration, TNT Sports, Warner Bros. Games, and the National Hockey League (NHL) are set to pioneer the first-ever MultiVersus NHL Face-Off. Scheduled to air on Sunday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m. ET, this animated broadcast will bring together iconic characters from Warner Bros. Discovery’s MultiVersus video game alongside NHL stars for a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience.

Exclusive to truTV and Max’s B/R Sports Add-On, the event will feature beloved Warner Bros. characters like Bugs Bunny, , Superman, Wonder Woman, Velma, Shaggy, Steven Universe, and Finn the Human. Adding to the spectacle, the puck drop will be officiated by none other than the Tasmanian Devil himself.

The innovative production will merge NHL EDGE positional data with Hawk-Eye Innovations’ optical tracking technology to create realistic character movements, synchronized with the actions of NHL players on the ice. Developed in partnership with NHL innovation partner Beyond Sports, the real-time animation promises to capture the intensity and dynamism of live NHL gameplay.

During the MultiVersus NHL Face-Off, fans will witness avatars of NHL superstars such as Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche facing off against Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault of the Vegas Golden Knights. The alternate telecast will feature a dynamic ice rink, incorporating elements from the MultiVersus game’s diverse environments, including the Space Jam Court, Adventure Time Tree Fort, Sky Arena, and Trophy’s E.D.G.E.

The game will be called by Steve Mears, with color commentary provided by Colby Armstrong. Additionally, the duo will offer insightful analysis during intermissions, enhancing the viewer experience.

Prior to the game, a special team selection draft of MultiVersus icons will take place during NHL on TNT’s postgame coverage of the Buffalo Sabres at Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, April 7.

MultiVersus, a free-to-play video game published by Warner Bros. Games and developed by Player First Games, boasts an expanding roster of iconic heroes and personalities set in reimagined universes and environments. The highly anticipated game is slated for an official launch on May 28, promising endless entertainment for fans worldwide.
