Robot Chicken Turns 20! New Special Puts the Nerd in Reality TV—Here’s When to Watch

It’s been 20 years of stop-motion chaos, pop culture takedowns, and hilariously twisted sketches—and Robot Chicken isn’t slowing down!
The Emmy-winning Adult Swim series is marking its 20th anniversary with a brand-new special that takes aim at reality TV—and it’s going to be as ridiculous as you’d expect.

What’s the New Special About?
Titled “The Robot Chicken Self-Discovery Special,” the episode follows the Robot Chicken Nerd as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery… by hopping onto reality TV shows.
Expect parodies of Discovery, Food Network, and TLC hits—so don’t be surprised if you see him trying to find love on 90 Day Fiancé or getting into deep trouble during Shark Week!
The special premieres this summer on Adult Swim.
Seth Green & Team React
Creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich reflected on the milestone:
“20 years ago, we set out to make the kind of funny and unexpected show that we’d want to watch. And somehow, we’re still here, making sketch comedy with toys and making each other laugh.”
They also promised the special will “soar really high… and then maybe poop on your head.” (Which, according to them, is good luck. 🤷)
Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen added:
“From the very first stop-motion sketch to the upcoming special, Robot Chicken’s relentless creativity and sharp satire continue to set it apart.”
How to Watch the Anniversary Celebration
To mark the occasion, Adult Swim is airing Robot Chicken five nights a week throughout February:
📺 Monday – Thursday: Double episodes at 12:30 a.m. ET/PT
📺 Sundays: Special feature episodes at 1:00 a.m. ET/PT
Where to Watch All Seasons
Can’t get enough? All 11 seasons of Robot Chicken are available to stream on Max.
A Legacy of Stop-Motion Madness
Debuting in 2005, Robot Chicken has racked up 23 Emmy nominations and 6 wins, making it one of Adult Swim’s most celebrated shows. Over the years, it’s taken hilarious jabs at everything from Star Wars and Marvel to Game of Thrones and ’80s cartoons.
This 20th-anniversary special is just the latest in a long history of pop-culture carnage—and we’re here for it.
