“PBS KIDS’ ‘Work It Out Wombats!’ Returns with New Adventures, Riddles & a Must-Hear Podcast!”

The energetic and problem-solving marsupial trio of Work It Out Wombats! is back, and they’re bringing fresh adventures, new characters, and even a brand-new podcast season! PBS KIDS has announced that new episodes will premiere on March 17, offering young audiences more engaging lessons in computational thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.

New Episodes & A Fun New Character

Zadie, Malik, and Zeke continue their adventures in the Treeborhood, where they’ll take on new challenges using critical thinking and logic. This time, they’ll meet a brand-new character—Chanáa’, Grandmother Super’s best friend, who hails from Alaska. With his knack for riddles, Chanáa’ will put the Wombats’ skills to the test in fun and engaging ways.

For those who can’t wait to binge the new adventures, a Work It Out Wombats! marathon featuring the latest episodes will air on the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel starting March 29.

Season 2 of the Podcast Arrives March 20

In addition to the new TV episodes, Season 2 of the Work It Out Wombats! podcast will launch on March 20. This eight-episode season will guide kids through step-by-step strategies to solve big problems while managing their emotions. Each episode wraps up with a catchy song designed to help young listeners apply problem-solving techniques in their daily lives. The podcast will be available on PBS KIDS, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and all major streaming platforms.

Exploring the Treeborhood

Set in the whimsical Treeborhood, Work It Out Wombats! introduces kids to a vibrant world where different species coexist, each bringing unique skills, traditions, and ways of thinking. From playful kangaroos to wise eagles, the Treeborhood is a hub of creativity and learning. Every episode features two 11-minute stories, complemented by a 90-second music video showcasing the Wombats’ problem-solving in action.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting new episodes:

  • Treeborhood Cause and Effect Machine / Riddles of the Treeborhood
    The Wombats attempt to build a machine that lets them multitask effectively, while also tackling tricky riddles posed by Chanáa’.
  • The Great Splendito / The Bike Wash
    After a messy storm, the trio must invent a machine to clean everyone’s bikes before the big parade.
  • Tricky Tricky Taiko Drum / Toy Swap Flop
    Zeke struggles to keep track of different sound patterns during a drumming performance, while Zadie learns an important lesson about responsibility after misplacing a borrowed toy.
  • Survey Says / Lost and Found Patrol
    The Wombats try to conduct a survey but end up collecting all the wrong answers. Meanwhile, Gramma Super’s lost glasses call for an urgent mission from the Lost and Found Patrol.
  • Ellie’s Island / Buckley’s Wombatty Playdate
    The Wombats worry that Ellie may be planning to leave the Treeborhood permanently. Elsewhere, a playdate with Buckley turns into a lesson on friendship and patience.

Produced by GBH Kids and Pipeline Studios, Work It Out Wombats! continues to inspire kids with its emphasis on computational thinking, teamwork, and emotional intelligence—all wrapped in fun, music, and adventure.
