“Netflix Unleashes ‘Moonrise,’ ‘Beastars’ & More at AnimeJapan – Fans Are Losing It!”

Netflix just dropped a payload of anime awesomeness at AnimeJapan 2025, and fans are still catching their breath! The streaming giant took center stage, unveiling exclusive footage, fresh images, and juicy details for its upcoming anime lineup, packed with both returning fan-favorites and brand-new titles.

A Star-Studded Anime Showcase

The Netflix stage was buzzing with excitement as some of the biggest names in anime voice acting made appearances. Among them were Chiaki Kobayashi (Moonrise), Chikahiro Kobayashi (BEASTARS Final Season), Yu Kobayashi (Moonrise & Arcane), and even the beloved My Melody from My Melody & Kuromi—because why not bring a little Sanrio magic to the mix?

A special sizzle reel also teased an exciting 2025 anime slate, featuring Sakamoto Days, Fire Force Season 3, Blue Box, Detective Conan: Submarine of Steel, Leviathan, Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of the Revenge, and Baban Baban Baban Vampire, among others. With over 100 million households tuning in for anime on Netflix, it’s clear the platform is doubling down on delivering premium content.

Moonrise: The Sci-Fi Epic We’ve Been Waiting For

One of the biggest highlights was the new trailer for Moonrise, a fresh sci-fi adventure premiering exclusively on Netflix on April 10. Based on an original story by Ubukata Tou (Psycho-Pass), with character designs by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), and directed by Koizuka Masashi (Attack on Titan S2 & S3), this WIT Studios production is poised to be a must-watch.

Set in a near-future where AI-driven decision-making reigns supreme, Moonrise follows Jack, a young man who loses his family in a terrorist attack orchestrated by rebels on the Moon. Sworn to seek vengeance, he joins the Earth Army as a scout, launching him into a high-stakes interplanetary conflict. With stunning visuals and a gripping storyline, Moonrise is ready to make waves.

BEASTARS Final Season: The End of an Era

Fans of BEASTARS were treated to an exclusive first look at Final Season Part 2, which will soon hit the platform. This beloved coming-of-age drama, set in a world where carnivores and herbivores coexist, follows Legoshi, a gray wolf struggling to balance his animal instincts and his feelings for Haru, a dwarf rabbit.

In this climactic season, Legoshi leaves school and enters society, only to find himself entangled in the growing “cannibalism incidents.” As he faces off against the enigmatic underworld figure, Melon, the stakes reach a fever pitch. Will Legoshi emerge victorious? And what will become of his romance with Haru? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out.

My Melody & Kuromi: A Sweet Surprise

For those who prefer their anime with a dose of adorable, My Melody & Kuromi delivered a sugar rush of excitement. This stop-motion animated series, premiering in July, follows the ever-cheerful My Melody and her self-proclaimed rival, the feisty-yet-sweet Kuromi. At AnimeJapan, it was revealed that My Melody’s dream of opening a candy store will finally come true in this new series—because who doesn’t want a candy-loving bunny entrepreneur?

Devil May Cry: Dante’s Anime Comeback

Fans of the Devil May Cry franchise were hyped to hear fresh updates on Netflix’s anime adaptation of Capcom’s legendary action game. Helmed by Castlevania producer Adi Shankar and animated by Studio Mir (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf), this dark, demon-slaying saga premieres April 3.

On stage, it was confirmed that Morikawa Toshiyuki will voice Dante, the stylish, gun-slinging demon hunter, while Orikasa Fumiko will play Lady, a fierce fighter with a knack for firearms. Meanwhile, Hirata Hiroaki will bring Dante’s enigmatic twin brother, Vergil, to life. With a cast this strong, Devil May Cry is shaping up to be an electrifying ride.

The Future of Anime on Netflix

With a lineup this stacked, it’s clear that Netflix isn’t just participating in the anime boom—it’s leading the charge. Whether you’re into deep sci-fi sagas, heart-wrenching dramas, adorable Sanrio adventures, or high-octane demon battles, there’s something for every anime fan to get excited about in 2025.

So, anime lovers, mark your calendars! It’s going to be a wild ride.
