The beloved animated sitcom Family Guy is set to bring its signature irreverent humor to a new home on Comedy Central. Starting this Labor Day, the long-running series created by Seth MacFarlane will join the network’s adult animation block, which already features fan favorites like South Park, Futurama, and Beavis and Butt-head.

This move comes as part of a rare network-to-cable licensing agreement between Disney Entertainment and the Paramount-owned Comedy Central. The deal is non-exclusive, allowing Family Guy to continue airing new episodes on FOX—where it recently shifted to a mid-season premiere—while older seasons remain accessible on FX, FXX, and Hulu, which retains exclusive streaming rights.

Family Guy will kick off its Comedy Central debut with an all-day marathon on September 2, followed by its regular slot in the primetime lineup starting Tuesday, September 3.

Debuting in 1999, Family Guy quickly became a cultural phenomenon and has maintained its popularity for 25 years. The series has earned numerous accolades, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, making it only the second animated show in history to achieve this recognition. Most recently, Alex Borstein, who voices Lois Griffin, received a nomination for Outstanding Character Voice-Over at the 76th Emmy Awards. Season 22 of the show concluded in April this year.

Family Guy is produced by 20th Television Animation. Seth MacFarlane, the show’s creator, also serves as executive producer and provides the voices for several key characters, including Peter Griffin, Stewie Griffin, Brian Griffin, and Glenn Quagmire. The show’s ensemble cast features Alex Borstein, Seth Green (Chris Griffin), Mila Kunis (Meg Griffin), Arif Zahir (Cleveland Brown), and Patrick Warburton (Joe Swanson). Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin are the current showrunners and executive producers, alongside Steve Callaghan, Tom Devanney, Danny Smith, Kara Vallow, Mark Hentemann, Patrick Meighan, and Alex Carter.
