Disney is gearing up to bring the magic of “Frozen” back to the big screen for the third time, with “Frozen 3” slated for a 2027 release. The highly anticipated sequel aims to resolve lingering questions and expand the beloved story further.

During the Disney Animation announcements, Jennifer Lee, Disney’s Chief Creative Officer, concluded the presentation by revealing visual development art for the upcoming film. The artwork, created by Britney Lee, features Elsa riding a white horse and Anna on a brown stag, offering a glimpse into the new adventures awaiting the sisters.

Jennifer Lee, who co-wrote and co-directed the Academy Award-winning “Frozen” alongside Chris Buck, returns to helm the project. The original “Frozen” film, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen,” first captivated audiences in 2013, becoming an instant global sensation. With a box office gross of $1.28 billion, it quickly became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. The film’s iconic songs, including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and the Oscar-winning “Let It Go,” composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, further cemented its place in pop culture.

The 2019 sequel, “Frozen 2,” built on the success of the first film, surpassing it with a global box office take of $1.45 billion. The sequel delved deeper into the magical world of Arendelle, introducing new locations, creatures, and magical elements, and it currently ranks as the 14th highest-grossing movie worldwide.

Beyond the big screen, the “Frozen” franchise has expanded into various mediums, including TV specials, short films, a Broadway musical, and even an ice-skating show, ensuring that the world of Arendelle remains a part of fans’ lives. As the release of “Frozen 3” approaches, excitement builds for what promises to be another enchanting chapter in this beloved saga.
