Cartoon Network Celebrates 25 Years at Annecy with Iconic Creator Reunion

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival just got a whole lot zanier, wackier — and iconic. Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe are pulling out all the stops for this year’s festival in June, bringing with them exclusive first looks, powerhouse creator panels, and a celebration of Cartoon Network Studios’ 25th anniversary.
From legendary creators and beloved franchises to bold new projects, the Warner Bros. family is setting the animation world abuzz.

A Bunny Leads the Way: Official Annecy 2025 Trailer
The official Annecy 2025 trailer is a full-on WB party, starring none other than Bugs Bunny and a lineup of legendary Warner Bros. characters. Directed by Grant Orchard (Hey Duggee) and executive produced by Ben Bocquelet (The Amazing World of Gumball), the trailer embodies the playfulness, creativity, and legacy that these studios bring to the global animation landscape.
“Annecy is the highlight of our year,” said Sam Register, President of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. “It’s an honor to participate in such a meaningful way and celebrate the artform we love so much.”

Cartoon Network Turns 25: Generational Icons Reunite
One of the biggest moments on the Annecy slate is the panel “Creating Creativity: Celebrating 25 Years of Cartoon Network Studios.” This mega-event gathers an all-star lineup of visionary creators:
Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory)
Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls)
Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time)
Rebecca Sugar (Steven Universe)
J.G. Quintel (Regular Show)
Adam Muto (Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake)
This conversation promises nostalgia, behind-the-scenes magic, and a look ahead at how Cartoon Network continues to shape the future of animation.

“Get Jiro”: From Graphic Novel to Animated Epic
In a Work-in-Progress Session, Warner Bros. Animation will preview Get Jiro, based on the New York Times bestselling graphic novel from DC/Vertigo. Set in a dystopian Los Angeles where chefs rule and rivalries turn lethal, this stylish action-thriller follows a mysterious sushi master fighting his way through the culinary underworld.
Expect juicy details on story development, animation style, and the creative journey behind this high-stakes food war.

Meet the “Bat-Fam”: Gotham Gets Cozier
Fans of Merry Little Batman rejoice! The Bat-Fam spinoff series is coming — and Annecy gets the first deep dive. This family-friendly adventure follows Batman, Alfred, and Damian Wayne (a.k.a. Little Batman) as they adjust to their new “super family” dynamics at Wayne Manor.
During the Making-Of Session, the team will share character designs, tone inspirations, and how they’re blending action and heart for all ages.

Studio Spotlight: Three Titans, One Global Mission
In a unified Studio Spotlight, Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe will unveil their collective vision: creating a bold, platform-spanning animation slate for everyone. Expect sneak peeks at both current hits and upcoming projects — across genres, age groups, and mediums.

Late-Night Laughter: The Rise of Adult Animation
In the Adult Animation Studio Focus, executives Michael Ouweleen (President, Adult Swim) and Peter Girardi (EVP, Alternative Programming) will lay out Warner Bros. Discovery’s strategy for owning the late-night space. They’ll spotlight new and ongoing series, reveal fresh titles, and speak on the booming global appetite for animated storytelling geared toward grown-ups.

Wrapping It Up
With panels celebrating 25 years of creativity, exclusive previews of graphic novel adaptations and superhero fun, and a firm focus on the future of both kid-friendly and adult animation, Warner Bros. and its studio siblings are bringing the heat to Annecy 2025.
Whether you’re a die-hard Cartoon Network kid or a fan of edgy animation, there’s something for everyone — and it’s all backed by studios that have defined generations of animated excellence.
