In a bid to capture hearts and imaginations worldwide, U.K.-based international agent GFM Animation has unveiled its latest animated sensation, “Hitpig.” Boasting a star-studded voice cast and an engaging storyline, the CG feature promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
Based on Pulitzer Prize-winning author Berkeley Breathed’s beloved New York Times bestseller “Pickles & Peanut,” “Hitpig” follows the adventures of a clever pig hired by humans to retrieve their escaped animals. The film, produced by Aniventure with animation by Cinesite, transports viewers to a futuristic cyberpunk world where unconventional partnerships and unexpected journeys abound.
The narrative centers around Hitpig’s encounter with Pickles, a spirited elephant who has fled the clutches of a nefarious Vegas showman. What begins as a pursuit for profit transforms into a globe-trotting escapade that challenges both characters to discover their true selves.
Renowned personalities lend their voices to breathe life into the characters, with Lilly Singh, RuPaul, Rainn Wilson, Hannah Gadsby, Charlie Adler, and Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta among the talented cast. Notably, Jason Sudeikis steps into the role of Hitpig, originally slated for Peter Dinklage.
Directed by Cinzia Angelini and David Feiss, with a screenplay penned by Breathed, Tyler Werrin, and Dave Rosenbaum, “Hitpig” promises a blend of humor, heart, and high-stakes adventure. Isabella Summers, known as The Machine of Florence + The Machine, is tasked with scoring the film, ensuring an immersive auditory experience.
Adam Nagle and Dave Rosenbaum serve as producers for Aniventure, spearheading the project’s journey from concept to realization.
