TuSimple Holdings Inc. (OTCMKTS: TSPH), a leading global AI technology company, has announced a strategic partnership with Shanghai Three Body Animation Co. to develop an animated feature film and video game inspired by the internationally renowned science fiction novel series, The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. The novel series, which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and has been adapted into several popular TV series, will serve as the foundation for this innovative project.

This collaboration signifies the launch of TuSimple’s newly established business segment, which focuses on commercializing generative AI technology within the animation and video game industry. The initiative was unanimously approved by the company’s Board of Directors and aims to leverage TuSimple’s advanced AI capabilities in a market valued at approximately USD 600 billion.

TuSimple, known for its cutting-edge generative AI technology in autonomous driving since early 2022, plans to apply this expertise to the new venture. The company’s existing infrastructure for data structuring, processing, and continuous development provides a robust foundation for scaling its offerings in the animation and gaming sectors.

Cheng Lu, President and CEO of TuSimple, emphasized the significance of this project, stating, “The globally acclaimed The Three-Body Problem series offers an exceptional opportunity to showcase our emerging generative AI capabilities, which we believe will provide a near-term path to commercialization. We aim to collaborate with world-class creative talent to deliver outstanding storytelling, amplify human creativity, and reduce development timelines to address the industry’s project backlog.”

Despite this new venture, TuSimple remains committed to the transportation sector, with plans to continue monetizing its autonomous vehicle technology through strategic partnerships and licensing.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in San Diego, California, TuSimple is dedicated to revolutionizing content creation and transforming the global freight industry through innovative AI solutions.
