Toonz Media Group has partnered with London-based Giffi Ltd. to co-produce and co-distribute a new animated series titled Adventures of Rusty. The 52-episode, seven-minute-per-episode series is inspired by the stories of the iconic Indian author Ruskin Bond, centering on Rusty, a lonely young Anglo-Indian boy.

The animated series will initially debut on digital platforms, followed by a release on YouTube and other distribution channels. Both Toonz Media Group and Giffi Ltd. will hold joint distribution rights for media, toys, merchandise, and collectibles associated with the series.

Toonz Media Group CEO P. Jayakumar expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with Giffi to bring the magic of Ruskin Bond’s captivating storytelling to life through animation. We are confident that the global digital strategy, combined with the animated TV series, will ensure the success of this venture.”

Prabit Nair, CEO of Giffi Ltd., shared his excitement about the project: “Ruskin Bond, the legend, needs no introduction. Being part of his legacy is a proud moment for all of us. We are thrilled to collaborate with Toonz on this project and are committed to making this venture a global success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sidd Bond for considering us for this project.”

Ruskin Bond himself expressed his joy in seeing his stories adapted into an animated series, saying, “It is truly a delightful journey to see my stories come to life through animation. The thought of reaching a new generation of readers and viewers through this medium is both exciting and humbling. I hope this adaptation captures the essence of my storytelling and brings joy to audiences worldwide.”

Siddharth Bond, Ruskin Bond’s grandson, also added, “I am delighted to bring my grandfather’s beloved stories to a new generation through animation. This initiative aims to capture the magic of Ruskin Bond’s work, making it accessible to younger audiences and ensuring his stories continue to enchant for years to come. The Bond family is thrilled to see his work translated into an animated series.”
