Toonz Media Group and Be That Spark Corp have joined forces in a groundbreaking co-production and co-distribution deal, set to bring the enchanting world of “Little Sparks” to screens worldwide. This collaboration between BLKBX Originals and Zuroam Media marks an exciting venture into the realm of children’s animation, adapting the beloved book series “A Little Spark” by Chris Parsons into a captivating 3D animated series.

The “Little Sparks” series follows the adventures of Spark, a bashful seven-year-old mouse, and his eclectic band of animal companions as they traverse a whimsical fantasy realm populated by magical beings. With a focus on themes of friendship, courage, and self-discovery, the series aims to ignite the imagination of young viewers and impart valuable life lessons.

The agreement also includes plans for a feature film adaptation of the book series, ensuring that the magic of “Little Sparks” will extend beyond the small screen. To complement the animated series, Toonz Media Group will develop a companion mobile app and a Roblox game, offering fans interactive storytelling experiences and immersive adventures in the world of Spark and his friends.

For Toonz Media Group, known for its diverse portfolio of animations and feature films, including collaborations with Marvel and Universal, “Little Sparks” marks an exciting foray into children’s programming. Under the terms of the agreement, Toonz will exclusively handle global media content distribution rights, including licensing and merchandising opportunities, cementing its role as a key player in the expansion of the “Little Sparks” universe.

P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “By combining our expertise in CGI animation with innovative digital experiences, we aim to create content that resonates with children and families worldwide. ‘Little Sparks’ embodies the spirit of imagination and camaraderie, inspiring viewers to embrace their inner spark and positively impact the world.”

Frank Donner, president of BLKBX Originals and CEO of BLKBX, echoed Jayakumar’s sentiments, emphasizing the potential for further expansion of the “Little Sparks” franchise. “We have plans for more books, school programs, music, video games, and so much more,” Donner stated. “We are delighted to launch our animation efforts with Chris’s characters and a partnership with Toonz Media Group; we couldn’t have a better steward of the ‘Little Spark’ universe.”

Chris Parsons, the creative mind behind “A Little Spark,” expressed his excitement for the collaboration, stating, “Together, we are committed to bringing ‘Little Sparks’ to life in a way that captivates audiences and instills a sense of wonder and possibility.”

The deal, brokered by Emerson Machtus, BLKBX Originals’ VP and co-head of content for Be That Spark Corp, alongside Jayakumar, signals a significant step forward in the world of children’s entertainment, promising an immersive and unforgettable experience for viewers of all ages. With “Little Sparks” slated for release in 2025, anticipation is already building for this magical journey into the heart of imagination and friendship.
