Tom Ellis Reveals Shocking Details About His ‘Tell Me Lies’ Return: Redemption and Chaos Ahead!

Fans of Tell Me Lies have plenty to look forward to in Season 3, especially the return of Tom Ellis, the beloved star best known as Lucifer. Ellis, who joined the Hulu drama in Season 2 as Oliver, has confirmed he’s back for the upcoming season and teased some exciting new developments for his character.

In an interview with People at CBS Fest in Los Angeles, Ellis shared that Oliver will return in Season 3 and hinted at upcoming “redeeming moments” for his morally complicated character. While he didn’t give away too much, Ellis promised fans that they’ll see a new side of Oliver amid all the familiar chaos.

A Season of Darkness, Toxicity, and Twists

Ellis described Season 3 as “dark, toxic, and funny,” setting the stage for more drama and outrageous moments. Having read the first four scripts, he noted that just when you think the characters can’t go further, they somehow manage to escalate things even more. While Oliver may not be the season’s central figure, he will still have a memorable impact.

Oliver and Bree: A Complicated Love Triangle

Season 2 saw Oliver fall for Bree (Catherine Missal) while still being married to Marianne (Gabriella Pession), who is also Bree’s professor. Their open relationship, combined with Oliver’s emotional connection to Bree, fueled a complex and messy triangle that remains unresolved. Season 3 promises to pick up the pieces, with high emotional stakes and lingering tension driving much of the plot.

More Drama from a Stellar Cast

Beyond Ellis’ return, the season will continue to spotlight the ensemble cast, including Grace Van Patten (Lucy), Jackson White (Stephen), and Spencer House (Mike Wrigley). Under the guidance of showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer, the series remains unpredictable and rich with betrayal, emotional chaos, and sharp twists. As Ellis put it, “Just when you thought our characters couldn’t do anything more ridiculous to themselves, they ended up doing it.”

The Road to Season 3

While production for Season 3 is still underway, excitement is already building. With Ellis back in the mix, fans can expect a powerful blend of redemption and disorder. Whether Oliver finds peace or spirals further remains to be seen—but either way, the ride will be thrilling.

Stay tuned—Tell Me Lies Season 3 is shaping up to be one of the most intense yet. Get ready for another wild chapter of emotional upheaval, romantic disasters, and unexpected turns.
