Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has recommended establishing a robust monitoring mechanism for the Telugu film industry (Tollywood) to ensure transparency, dispute resolution, and healthy working dynamics. This was proposed during a meeting with prominent producers and directors led by TSFDC Chairman Dil Raju at his residence.
The CM emphasized that while the government would maintain neutrality in industry disputes, it will enforce a fair environment, saying:
“The government will not tolerate attempts by a few persons to control the industry. Everyone has to work within the law.”
He also highlighted the importance of protecting both producers and workers, urging producers to treat workers with humanity and announcing plans for a white paper to chart long-term reforms. The proposed reforms include establishing a corpus fund for skill development and integrating film education into the upcoming Skill University.
Recognizing Tollywood’s global significance, Revanth added that steps would be taken to attract more international film projects to Hyderabad. The goal is to place the Telugu film industry firmly on the world stage with government support and industry cooperation.
