Jellyfish Pictures, a UK-based VFX and animation company, has strengthened its presence in North America by hiring seasoned industry professionals Brodie McNeill and Lara Osland to spearhead its expansion into Canada.

McNeill joins the team as Senior VFX Supervisor, bringing over two decades of experience to his new role, where he will oversee creative supervision for all Toronto-based projects. His impressive career includes work on high-profile productions such as Palm Royale, Titans, The Gilded Age, Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water, and Tim Burton’s Wednesday, for which he received an Emmy nomination. McNeill has previously held positions at Powerhouse VFX, Folks, and Mr. X.

Osland has been appointed Executive Producer, tasked with managing Jellyfish Pictures’ VFX projects in Toronto and overseeing business operations in the region. With more than 25 years of experience across VFX, animation, and publishing, Osland’s portfolio includes major titles like Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon film series for Netflix, Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the Halo series. She has previously worked at Rodeo, Spin, and Rocket Science.

“We are privileged to welcome Brodie and Lara to our team and have them lead our charge into the Canadian landscape,” said Phil Greenlow, Global Managing Director of VFX at Jellyfish Pictures. “Their combined experience and expertise, added to their conscientious and committed work ethic, make me very excited to see what they will achieve with Jellyfish Pictures.”

Jellyfish Pictures has recently contributed to critically acclaimed feature films such as The Creator and Asteroid City, as well as television projects like The Gentlemen and Constellation. Their work on the Oscar-winning live-action short, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, further highlights the studio’s versatility and talent. Upcoming 2024 projects include Ellen Kuras’ Lee, starring Kate Winslet, Netflix’s Kaos, and the fantasy adventure series Nautilus.
