The first round of the VALORANT Masters Bangkok playoffs has concluded, with EDward Gaming and G2 Esports emerging victorious over T1 and Team Vitality, respectively.
EDG maintained its momentum from previous wins and came out swinging on Split, nearly pulling off the event’s first 13-0 sweep. However, T1 fought back, winning seven of the next nine rounds, but ultimately fell short as EDG closed out the map 13-7. The second map, Bind, started evenly, but T1 dominated 13-6, forcing a decider on Pearl. In a nail-biting finale, Wan ‘CHICHOO‘ Shunzhi led EDG to a 13-9 victory, securing their spot in the upper finals.
Meanwhile, the G2 vs. Team Vitality matchup lived up to the hype. The first map went to overtime, with G2 clutching the win 15-13. On Lotus, G2 built an early 6-1 lead, but Vitality fought back to tie the half at 6-6. However, G2’s momentum proved unstoppable as they sealed the series 2-0 with a 13-9 win.
