In a groundbreaking collaboration, DNEG, the award-winning VFX and animation studio, joins forces with Prime Focus Studios, helmed by global CEO Namit Malhotra, and director Nitesh Tiwari to embark on a cinematic journey to retell the legendary Indian saga, Ramayana. Adding to the creative synergy, Yash’s Monster Mind Creations is also on board for this ambitious project.

With a promise to deliver a visual spectacle that has never been seen before, the team aims to capture the essence of Indian mythology and storytelling traditions on the silver screen. Namit Malhotra, whose company has garnered multiple Oscars over the past decade, expressed his personal commitment to honoring the sanctity of the Ramayana while presenting it to a global audience in a compelling manner.

Malhotra emphasized, “My challenges from the start have been two-fold: to respect the sanctity of a tale which is held in such high regard by all of us who grew up with it, while also bringing it to the world in such a way that this incredible story is embraced by international audiences as a compelling big screen experience.”

Joining forces with Yash, known for his international success with films like K.G.F: Chapter 2, Malhotra sees a shared aspiration to showcase the richness of Indian culture to the world. Yash expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the alignment of their visions for Indian cinema on a global stage.

Yash remarked, “Ramayana is woven into the fabric of our lives. We believe we know it well, yet each encounter unveils fresh wisdom, ignites new knowledge, and offers unique perspectives. Our vision is to translate this timeless epic onto the silver screen in a grand spectacle, honoring its scale.”

The project signifies a significant step towards bridging cultures and bringing Indian storytelling to a global audience. With a commitment to creative exploration, bold visions, and honest storytelling, the team embarks on a journey to share the timeless tale of Ramayana with the world.
