Crunchyroll Announces Theatrical Release Dates for Three New Anime Films

Crunchyroll, a prominent platform for anime streaming, has announced its foray into the cinema market with the unveiling of release plans for three highly anticipated anime films: “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle,” “Blue Lock the Movie -Episode Nagi-,” and “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom.”

The revelation came during Crunchyroll’s inaugural presentation at CinemaCon, marking a significant milestone for the company’s expansion strategy.

“Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” is slated for a North American theatrical release on May 31, 2024, featuring screenings in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dubbed versions. International release dates have also been confirmed, with various countries scheduled to experience the film in the following weeks.

Following closely behind, “Blue Lock the Movie -Episode Nagi-” is set to debut in North American theaters on June 28, 2024. Similar to its predecessor, the film will offer audiences the option of watching in Japanese with English subtitles or an English dubbed version. Details regarding international release dates are forthcoming.

“Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom” rounds out Crunchyroll’s cinematic lineup, with the company securing theatrical rights for North America and selected international territories. While specific release dates are yet to be disclosed, fans can expect further updates in the near future.

Each film promises to deliver a unique and captivating storyline, catering to the diverse tastes of anime enthusiasts worldwide. From the exhilarating volleyball showdown in “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle” to the compelling soccer narrative of “Blue Lock the Movie -Episode Nagi-” and the immersive virtual reality world of “Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom,” Crunchyroll aims to provide audiences with an unforgettable cinematic experience.
