Bruce Campbell, star of the “Evil Dead” franchise, has revealed plans for an animated installment of the series. Although Campbell stepped down from his role following the cancellation of the 2015 series “Ash vs Evil Dead,” the opportunity to voice his character in an animated format was too enticing to decline. Campbell first hinted at this new project in 2022.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Campbell shared, “We are developing an animated version, like a series. I’ll do Ash’s voice all day long because my voice hasn’t aged as much as I have.”
Providing more insight into the project, Campbell explained, “We’re out of the cabin, Sam [Raimi] doesn’t have to direct, and I don’t have to star as Ash. The trick is to take the elements that people like, which is innocent people being tortured by a malicious entity, and it’s people who have no skills to stop it.”
As of now, no further development details have been announced.
