ArborXR, a startup specializing in remote management of AR and VR devices, has raised $12 million in Series A funding to further develop and scale its platform. The funding round, led by Mercury Fund and Cortado Ventures, also saw participation from Impact Venture Capital and Lewis & Clark Ventures. To date, ArborXR has raised over $25 million.
As the adoption of XR (extended reality), including AR and VR, accelerates in the corporate sector, ArborXR’s platform is becoming increasingly essential. Major companies such as Adidas, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, Dell, Pfizer, Nike, and Walmart are already utilizing VR for employee training in hybrid and remote environments. However, managing the vast array of VR devices used by employees can be challenging—this is where ArborXR’s platform steps in.
ArborXR offers a comprehensive solution for remotely managing AR and VR devices, allowing companies to install apps and content, control user access, monitor training progress, and even check device health, all through a web app available on both Windows and Mac. The platform also features a directory with over 600 app developers, enabling enterprises to find and download apps that meet their specific needs.
The company’s platform is also being used in the education sector, with over 420 institutions utilizing its services to manage an unlimited number of devices. According to CEO and co-founder Brad Scoggin, “People need to know about the quiet adoption of XR happening in enterprise, healthcare, and education right now. This isn’t about Meta, Apple, Qualcomm, or Google… although their significant commitment to XR is not unimportant. This is about a fundamental shift in the way that people learn, and VR is driving that change.”
Since its inception in 2020, ArborXR has focused on the enterprise market, a bet that has paid off as the company now serves over 3,000 major clients, including Bank of America, Delta, Pfizer, Qualcomm, UPS, and Walmart. The company’s customer base has tripled in the past year, and it plans to use the new funding to meet the growing demand.
ArborXR was founded by Brad Scoggin, Will Stackable (CMO), and Jordan Williams (CRO), who previously launched the VR arcade company UpwardVR in 2017. They later developed SpringboardVR, a software platform for managing VR devices, which was acquired by Vertigo Games in 2021. Leveraging the experience from SpringboardVR, the trio launched ArborXR with a vision to transform learning and work through XR.
“Our long-term vision? XR that transforms learning and work,” said Stackable. “Imagine pilots mastering flight simulations at home, surgeons practicing complex procedures risk-free, and students accessing world-class education, regardless of location. XR, at its best, is a tool that gives people their time back—to learn faster and work smarter, then unplug and enjoy real life.”
ArborXR stands out in a niche market with only a few competitors, such as ManageXR and Omnissa’s Workspace One UEM. The company aims to offer more affordable pricing and a user-friendly interface. Subscription options include “Starter” at $7 per device per month, “Essential” at $10, and “Enterprise” at $13, with a 30-day free trial available.
ArborXR supports a wide range of VR devices, including Apple Vision Pro, DPVR headsets, HTC Vive, Lenovo VRX, Meta Quest, Pico devices, and AR glasses such as DigiLens, Magic Leap 2, Vuzix, and RealWear.
