“Baby Shark Takes Over Japan! Pinkfong’s Bold Expansion Will Make Waves in 2025!”

The global sensation behind Baby Shark is making waves again—this time in Japan! The Pinkfong Company, the Seoul-based entertainment powerhouse, has officially opened its fifth global office in Tokyo, adding to its existing hubs in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore. This strategic expansion aims to tap into Japan’s deep-rooted love for animation and character-driven entertainment, bringing more of Pinkfong’s magic to families nationwide.

The Tokyo Takeover

With Japan’s vibrant entertainment landscape and passionate fanbase, it’s no wonder Pinkfong sees Tokyo as a strategic goldmine. The company’s Chief Business Officer, Gemma Joo, will spearhead operations in the region, leading the charge to expand media distribution, stage live performances, and forge new partnerships.

But Pinkfong isn’t stopping at just opening an office. They’re diving headfirst into a slew of exciting initiatives! One major highlight for 2025? BABY SHARK LIVE! The Hidden Treasure—the globally acclaimed live show—will embark on a nationwide tour, delighting fans across Japan.

Why Japan? Why Now?

According to Min-seok Kim, CEO of The Pinkfong Company, Japan is a “strategic cornerstone” in the company’s global growth plan. “By establishing our Tokyo office, we’re creating a hub that will allow us to connect deeply with Japanese audiences,” he said. “We look forward to bringing more immersive experiences, quality content, and innovative partnerships to families across Japan in the years to come.”

Pinkfong’s love affair with Japan isn’t new. In June 2022, a pop-up store collaboration with the popular kids’ café Little Planet attracted a staggering 128,000 visitors—a jaw-dropping 132% increase from the previous year. Later that year, Pinkfong partnered with convenience store giant Lawson, stocking merchandise, character posters, and educational materials in over 14,000 locations. Their Soundbook sales alone surpassed 130,000 copies within just six months!

And let’s not forget Pinkfong’s foray into Japan’s booming webtoon market. Moon Shark: From Underwater Princess to Celebrity, a webtoon launched in May last year, took off on Naver Webtoon’s Line Manga, one of Japan’s largest digital comic platforms. The series helped solidify Pinkfong’s brand among Japan’s tech-savvy Gen Z readers.

The Baby Shark Phenomenon Continues

Since its founding in 2010, The Pinkfong Company has built a media empire with content in 25 languages across 244 regions worldwide. Their YouTube channels boast over 140 billion views and 240 million subscribers, pulling in a mind-blowing 130 million views daily. And of course, Baby Shark Dance remains YouTube’s undisputed champion, reigning as the most-viewed video of all time with 15.6 billion views—nearly double that of its closest competitor!

A Big Year Ahead

As if this expansion wasn’t exciting enough, 2025 will mark the 10-year anniversary of Baby Shark, and Pinkfong has a year-long celebration planned. From exclusive events to new content drops, expect a tidal wave of Baby Shark fun for fans of all ages.

With its Tokyo office officially in motion, The Pinkfong Company is doubling down on its mission to bring joy, music, and entertainment to kids worldwide. One thing’s for sure—Baby Shark isn’t just a viral hit; it’s a cultural movement that’s here to stay!

Stay tuned—Japan, get ready to doo doo doo doo doo doo!
