Television Cover Page

Get ready for an animated adventure like no other! The highly anticipated action-packed series Iyanu is officially making its debut on Cartoon Network on April 5 at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT, with streaming available the next day on Max. If you’re a fan of rich storytelling, magical worlds, and powerful heroes, this one’s for you.

What’s ‘Iyanu’ About?

Adapted from the graphic novel Iyanu: Child of Wonder by Roye Okupe, the series is deeply rooted in Nigerian culture, mythology, and music. Produced by Lion Forge Entertainment, a leading Black-owned animation studio, Iyanu brings a fresh, diverse perspective to the superhero genre.

The story follows Iyanu, a fearless young orphan living in the magical kingdom of Yorubaland. Like any other child, she dreams of a normal life, but fate has different plans. When a dark force threatens her world, she suddenly awakens divine powers—ones that haven’t been seen since the legendary Age of Wonders. Joined by her loyal friends Biyi and Toye, along with a mystical leopard named Ekun, Iyanu embarks on a journey to uncover the source of the looming evil and fulfill her destiny.
