“Wallace & Gromit Take Over BAFTAs—Could They Win the Oscar Next?” 

The 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards delivered some exciting wins for animation and visual effects, with Aardman’s iconic duo Wallace & Gromit scoring big, and the stunning Wander to Wonder claiming the Best British Short Animation award.

The ceremony, hosted by David Tennant at The Royal Festival Hall in London, celebrated the best in filmmaking over the past year, with stop-motion animation stealing the spotlight.


Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl – A Double BAFTA Win!

  • The beloved claymation duo returned with Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, which took home:
  • Best Animated Film
  • Best Children’s & Family Film (a brand-new BAFTA category!)

Nick Park and the Aardman team have once again proven that their signature stop-motion magic remains a global favorite, as the film also holds an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature.

Streaming now on Netflix, Vengeance Most Fowl marks another triumphant chapter in Wallace & Gromit’s legacy.


‘Wander to Wonder’ Wins Best British Short Animation

The poignant stop-motion short has been making waves, recently winning Best Animated Short at the Annie Awards and securing an Oscar nomination.

  • A group of children’s show puppets are abandoned when their creator passes away, leaving them to grapple with their uncertain future.

With an all-star voice cast, including Toby Jones and Amanda Lawrence, Wander to Wonder delivers a heartfelt tribute to childhood nostalgia and creativity.


Dune: Part Two Wins Big in Special Visual Effects

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two took home the BAFTA for Best Special Visual Effects, beating out strong contenders like:

  • Better Man
  • Gladiator II
  • Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
  • Wicked

With jaw-dropping VFX and sound design, it’s no surprise that Dune: Part Two continues to dominate the awards season.
