CinevisualFX artists worked on multiple shots and created a photorealistic convincing sequence of a car crash using computer-generated imagery (CGI).
All About Our Work
“CINEVISUALFX is thrilled to present their contribution to a photorealistic Car Crash Sequence in John Woo’s directorial : Silent Night”. CineVisualFX contemptuously showcases the VFX and Car Animation in a FULL CG Sequence for the Christmas Release of ’23. Silent Night, an action thriller directed by the proverbial and one of the most acclaimed actions directors of all time John Woo, created by the Producers of John Wick; Thunder Road Films.
The entire street where sequence unfolded, including the boundary walls, roads, scaffoldings, etc. was meticulously recreated in Maya incorporating all the Cars which were a part of the story.
The composition was refined in Nuke and the elemental Effects inclusive of Dust, Smoke, Debris and the Water was simulated in Houdini. The challenge involved creating a sequence so close to realism that it seamlessly integrated into a pre-existing sequence which had been shot under certain daylight conditions.
The real aim and the artistic goal was to ensure that the entire CGI Scene appeared authentic and in Sync with sequences shot in continuity with it, which was a creative challenge our team successfully accomplished. Our team poured their heart and soul into the creation of ‘Silent Night’; embodiment of the essence of thrill, life and vengeful action.
“Silent Night,” distributed by Lionsgate Films is released theatrically on 1st December 2023.
