Absolute Sports, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies and the parent company of prominent websites like Sportskeeda.com, ProFootballNetwork.com, and SoapCentral.com, has announced the acquisition of all assets of DeltiasGaming.com, a well-known US gaming and esports content platform. The deal, valued at approximately Rs 7.5 crore, is set to be completed within the next 45 days.
DeltiasGaming.com, which reported revenues of $575,000 (around Rs 4.8 crore) for the 12-month period ending in June 2024, boasts a loyal user base of nearly 1.5 million monthly readers. Absolute Sports plans to fund this all-cash transaction from its cash reserves, with payments to be made in one or more tranches.
The acquisition is a strategic move by Absolute Sports to strengthen its footprint in the gaming and esports media publishing sector in the United States. With its flagship brand Sportskeeda.com already serving a significant gaming audience, this new addition will enhance the company’s reach and influence.
Ajay Pratap Singh, CEO of Absolute Sports, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “With this acquisition, Absolute Sports will now serve upwards of 5 million US gaming enthusiasts with high-quality gaming and esports-related news and analysis content on our various properties.”
DeltiasGaming.com also provides access to a substantial audience on popular platforms such as YouTube and the gaming streaming network Twitch. Absolute Sports intends to leverage Deltia’s brand equity and loyal user base to establish itself as an authoritative voice in the gaming media space.
The asset purchase agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, but once finalized, it promises to significantly enhance Absolute Sports’ presence and capabilities in the competitive US gaming market.
