In an exciting development for LEGO enthusiasts and creative minds worldwide, Shawn Boyd’s imaginative concept has been selected to come to life in an upcoming episode of Netflix’s hit series LEGO DreamZzz. The announcement comes as part of the LEGO Group’s ongoing collaboration with Tongal, through the LEGO World Builder platform, which empowers fans to craft their own LEGO worlds, narratives, and characters.

Boyd’s concept, chosen from a pool of over 100 submissions, resonated with its unique take on the struggles of creativity. Titled a “bottle episode,” a term referring to a self-contained storyline within a series, Boyd’s vision ingeniously places the narrative within an actual bottle, reflecting the challenges of writer’s block.

Since 2012, the LEGO Group has leveraged Tongal’s global creator platform to foster content creation, with countless animators from the Tongal community contributing to projects such as the upcoming biographical LEGO film, “Piece by Piece,” chronicling the life of musician Pharrell Williams.

LEGO World Builder has served as a hub for more than 10,000 creators, who have collectively crafted over 7,000 original worlds. The platform allows for collaborative creation, enabling participants to offer input and ideas to enhance each other’s projects. Importantly, when LEGO opts to purchase or utilize a concept, all contributors involved receive compensation for their contributions.

The success of Shawn Boyd’s concept underscores the power of community-driven creativity and the boundless potential of the LEGO World Builder platform. As LEGO DreamZzz prepares for its third season on Netflix, fans eagerly anticipate the imaginative journey that awaits within Boyd’s bottle episode creation.
