In a collaborative effort to support the cause of crime reduction, renowned actors Royce Pierreso, known for his role in “The Witcher,” and BAFTA-nominee Zoë Wanamaker, recognized for her performance in the “Harry Potter” series, have joined forces to voice a new animation for the national crime reduction charity, Causeway.

Causeway, a prominent national charity dedicated to aiding marginalized and vulnerable individuals in recovering from trauma and steering clear of further harm, aims to facilitate the development of independent and fulfilling lives among those it supports.

The animation highlights the real-life journey of Dwayne Jack, whose tumultuous childhood marked by trauma and neglect led him down a path of crime from a young age. Despite facing numerous challenges and encountering the criminal justice system repeatedly, Dwayne, now 39, resolved to break free from the cycle of criminality upon his final release from prison in 2014.

Voicing the role of Dwayne in the animation, Royce Pierreso brings authenticity to the character, while Zoë Wanamaker, in the role of narrator, guides viewers through Dwayne’s compelling story using his exact words to craft the script.

Royce Pierreso, celebrated for his roles in “The Witcher,” “Line of Duty,” and the biopic “Judy,” as well as Netflix’s “The Irregulars,” expressed his honor in being part of such a vital campaign. Reflecting on Dwayne’s journey, Pierreso commended his resilience and highlighted the invaluable work of organizations like Causeway in transforming lives.

Causeway’s commitment to breaking the cycle of criminality and exploitation is evident through its four trauma-informed crime reduction services. By providing essential support and guidance, Causeway strives to empower individuals like Dwayne to overcome adversity and contribute positively to society.

The collaboration between Royce Pierreso, Zoë Wanamaker, and Causeway underscores the significance of addressing the root causes of crime and supporting individuals in their journey towards rehabilitation and redemption. Through storytelling and advocacy, initiatives like this animation serve as poignant reminders of the transformative power of resilience and compassion.
