In an exciting development for Dr. Seuss fans, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Dr. Seuss Enterprises have announced the casting for the upcoming animated adaptation of the beloved classic, “The Cat in the Hat”. Leading the vocal ensemble is none other than Bill Hader, known for his roles in “Barry” and various comedic endeavors.

Joining Hader in the vocal cast are Quinta Brunson from “Abbott Elementary”, “SNL” alum Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, Matt Berry from “What We Do in The Shadows”, and Paula Pell from “Girls5eva”. This star-studded lineup promises to bring fresh energy and talent to the timeless characters.

Scheduled for release on March 6, 2026, the animated adaptation aims to revive the cinematic legacy of Dr. Seuss’ work following the less-than-stellar reception of the 2003 live-action film. With Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja writing and directing, and Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern producing, the team is poised to deliver a delightful and entertaining experience for audiences of all ages.

The storyline will follow The Cat in the Hat as he embarks on an adventure to cheer up a pair of siblings adjusting to life in a new town, promising plenty of Seussian spectacle and whimsy.

Bill Damaschke, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, expressed excitement about the project, emphasizing the partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and the opportunity to introduce the iconic character to a new generation. The film marks the beginning of a collaboration between the studio and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, with plans for more animated projects in the pipeline.

Executive producers Susan Brandt and Bill Hader are enthusiastic about the project’s potential to capture the magic of Dr. Seuss’ imagination and joy. DNEG Animation has been tapped as the animation studio partner, adding another layer of expertise to the production.

In anticipation of the release, Brandt remarked on the exceptional talent involved in bringing “The Cat in the Hat” to life, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers to the world of Dr. Seuss.

As the excitement builds for this animated adventure, fans can look forward to a fresh interpretation of a beloved classic, promising laughter, whimsy, and the timeless charm of Dr. Seuss’ storytelling.
