French animation studio Folivari has unveiled plans to produce “The Wild Inside,” an animated coming-of-age adventure film based on Jamey Bradbury’s acclaimed novel of the same name. Directed and written by Patrick Imbert, known for his work on “The Summit of Gods,” the film marks Folivari’s third collaboration with Imbert following the success of “The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales” and “The Summit of the Gods,” which garnered critical acclaim and prestigious awards.
Scheduled to be showcased for the first time at Cartoon Movie this month, “The Wild Inside” is currently in development. The story revolves around 17-year-old Tracy Petrikoff, who resides in the Alaskan wilderness with her family. After her mother’s mysterious disappearance, Tracy embarks on a journey of personal discovery, eventually rescuing another girl named Jesse during a hunting trip. This act triggers a series of events that compel Tracy to confront her deep connection to nature and wild animals.
Thibaut Ruby, representing Folivari, expressed the company’s excitement about the collaboration with Imbert and their dedication to bringing Bradbury’s captivating tale to life. Imbert emphasized their aim to create a visually stunning and emotionally moving cinematic experience, exploring the beauty, brutality, and magic of the wilderness through complex characters.
“The Wild Inside” will be animated by FOST Studio, renowned for their work on projects like “The Summit of the Gods” and “Wolfwalkers.” The film’s music will be composed by award-winning Amine Bouhafa. Reflecting Folivari’s commitment to imaginative storytelling and high-quality visual effects, “The Wild Inside” is poised to captivate audiences of all ages worldwide.
