Ginger Games, based in New Delhi, has officially launched with the backing of the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) and prominent gaming veterans from Activision and Jio Games. With over 50 years of combined gaming and media experience, co-founders Sumit Batheja (formerly at Yahoo, Alibaba, and Tyroo) and Shrey Mishra (founder of GamingCentral and XR Central) are leading the charge.
Studio Mission: Reinventing Mobile Gaming
Ginger Games aims to overcome two of mobile gaming’s persistent challenges—monetization and retention—by crafting sticky, scalable hybrid-casual games that avoid copycat formulas.
Their first game, Monkey Mayhem, is entering beta testing. It blends roguelite mechanics with dynamic biomes, crafting systems, and action-adventure storytelling. The studio is also building a genre-specific design and live-ops engine to sustain long-term engagement and monetization.
Strategic Incubator Support
As part of KIGI’s second cohort, Ginger Games receives structured mentorship, technical resources, and global insights to validate their design philosophy for building enduring IP. The cohort includes six diverse Indian startups from cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Madurai. The program also offers up to $150,000 in financial support, plus access to backing from partners such as AWS, AccelByte, AppMagic, and GameRefinery.
