Why Glasgow?

Glasgow has emerged as a tech and creative hub, offering a rich talent pool of artists, engineers, and storytellers. Halon’s decision to set up shop here was backed by Scottish Enterprise and Screen Scotland, both of which have championed Scotland’s growing role in global media and entertainment.

Chris Ferriter, President of Halon Entertainment, shared:

“With production happening across the globe, expanding our full-service studios on both sides of the Atlantic allows us to better support our clients with world-class services and top-tier talent. Our new Scotland studio strengthens our ability to collaborate seamlessly across time zones and deliver exceptional work to even more productions worldwide.”

What This Means for the Industry

With its state-of-the-art facilities and a fresh wave of industry professionals, Halon’s Glasgow studio is expected to take on bigger and bolder projects in film, television, and gaming.

Halon Entertainment, founded in 2003, has made its mark on Hollywood by contributing to blockbusters like:

  • The Batman
  • Planet of the Apes franchise
  • Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning
  • Warner Bros.’ A Minecraft Movie
  • Epic Games’ Fortnite cinematics

Now, with a Glasgow presence, Halon can seamlessly collaborate with European studios and leverage Scotland’s growing creative economy.

New Opportunities for Artists & Technicians

The expansion means a wave of career opportunities for Scottish animators, VFX artists, and production specialists.

“Glasgow offers us access to an incredible network of artists, engineers, and creative thinkers,” Ferriter emphasized. “We’re excited to grow alongside this community and bring Halon’s global expertise to Scotland.”

Halon’s Glasgow studio is expected to focus on real-time visualization, virtual production, and cinematic animation, making it a major player in Europe’s growing entertainment landscape.

A Parallel Investment in Los Angeles

While Glasgow is a focal point, Halon is also expanding its Los Angeles headquarters to maintain its stronghold in the U.S. entertainment industry. This dual expansion strategy ensures that Halon can deliver high-quality, real-time creative solutions across continents, offering faster and more efficient services to global clients.

What’s Next?

With major projects already in production, including the latest installments in the Mission: Impossible franchise and the upcoming Minecraft movie, Halon’s expansion is set to reshape the global animation and VFX industry.

The Glasgow studio is poised to become a powerhouse in animation, gaming cinematics, and immersive media, bringing Scotland one step closer to becoming a world leader in digital entertainment.
